Overexcited February 8, 2007

Posted by Jen in : Journal , trackback

No, that was just a whimper. It’s not even 6am yet and I am truly, madly, utterly and completely overexcited. I am looking out of the window. Looking out and, oh, smiling smiling smiling. Can you tell what it is yet? Yes, it’s SNOWING… yippee, woo hoo and hurrah!!! Double hurrah, in fact, with shaky chocolate on the top and a cinnamon stick.

Instead of my early morning writing extravaganza, I am hitting ‘refresh’ on SouthernFM to see if the schools are cancelled. Not because I want to skive and play in the snow, or go for a snowy walk with the dog and drink hot chocolate or anything. It’s, y’know, so I can write my novel. No, really!

*Adopts a serious Noel Coward sort of voice*

‘Today, my lovelies, one will be writing one’s novel in the snow.’

Did I mention that I’m a little bit overexcited??????

Ooooh snow? I know I’m going to look at mountains tomorrow and I shouldn’t sound such a spoiled brat but ooooh, I do sometimes long for something other than hot weather. We have (mostly) two types of weather here in Bangkok: hot and unfeasibly hot (sometimes wet too). I long to put on tights and boots, and woolly jumpers and go out in cold weather. I miss boots.

Throw a snowball for me, please!

It looks glorious.

We have slush. Snowballs this morning on the way to school soaked through everything. Yuck.

Did you have school?

Liz: No school, no work, it’s the best day ever!!!!!

JJ - I’ll pop some thermals on and wear them on your behalf so that you don’t feel left out, ok??

Ooh, the excitement!!! It’s snowing!!!!!

It’s just starting here. It feels like Christmas again. I’m going to put on some carols and sing very loudly … whilst not marking when I should be marking. Have fun. Enjoy the snow.
I’m smiling for you.

Christmas carols? Oh, why didn’t I think of that? You are truly a genius…
