Sighing. Even though it’s early. April 20, 2007
Posted by Jen in : Journal , trackbackOh dear. I think I have the stress. I can feel it nibbling my shoulders, my neck, my frowning department. Sigh.
I got up early this morning to write. At 5.30 in fact. And now it’s 6.20 and I still haven’t written anything. So I’m writing this instead. Potential publishers take note! Hopeless non-writing writer is up and at ‘em. Sigh.
In motoring misery news: the men are coming to take away my beloved car today. I can’t bear to say goodbye. I will pat its battered body as I leave for work and try not to think of it being squished into the shape of an Oxo cube by a car-squishing machine. Sigh.
In dieting misery news: I baked a fabulous Nigella Lawson chocolate fudge cake for lovely bf’s birthday. Phwoar! Seriously the fabbest cake ever, at least 10 feet tall and fluffy and yumptious. Serves 10, or 1 with a broken heart it says on the recipe. I’ve avoided Nigella so far but now, oh, I am smitten. Truly. Sigh.
Shopping list for the weekend:
- A nice new car, preferably within the budget of the approximate £3.79 the bastard insurance is sending me for mine.
- A body impervious to the perils of chocolate fudge cake.
- A bucket of inspiration.
Sigh. In fact, make that a double.

Oh sign me up for a helping of 2 and 3 please. I dont need a car right now but if you find one for £3.79, I might be interested (can ebay it or something…).
Hugs and all that good stuff.
Ditto what Kate said especially 2 right now that is weighing on me
Have a great weekend and may inspiration find you!
I loved No 1. I vividly remember selling a car to a junk yard for about that amount a few years ago. I was so hurt that it wasn’t even worth more for parts.
Of course, I can’t go without adding that sadly, I really need no 2, aswell.
A double helping of cake-immunity is on its way to you all.
God, are we sad or what!?!?!?
Actually, I’ve decided to think myself thin. I’m going to be one of those people who can eat what they want without putting on an ounce. Hey, it’s got to be more fun than shunning Nigella now that I’ve discovered her chocolatey temptation!!
Commiserations… hope the stress is receding.
Hi I will go for 2 & 3 aswell please. I have tried the think thin approach but it didn’t work for me, I now do the run and cycle as often as I can approach. I just about manage to break even!!!
Lets both hope for some inspiration.
Thanks Zinnia, I shall survive this latest bout of woe!
Sheepish, hello. Hmmm, running and cycling, yes. You’re right. They will definitely burn more calories than thinking!! Sigh.
5:30! I’m impressed, though I’m definitely not a morning person.
I could use a helping of 2 and 3 as well, but your thinking thin idea does sound much more enjoyable: “Mmm this cake is tasty…I think these calories shall not stick!”
I know what you mean Angie… I’m more ‘moaning’ than ‘morning’.
Sticky calories… hmmm… now that’s an interesting concept.
